When Patricia visited us a couple of years ago we went to Hobbiton together and enjoyed our tour and a meal at the Green Dragon Inn. The doors to the Hobbit holes there are undecorated so I decided to add decoration to mine.. Rosemary
Now, I would like to know what's behind that door! I wish I could upload a photo in the comments as someone in this neighbourhood has a hobbit house with such a door in their garden! Lovely!
This brings back wonderful memories of that very special day - the setting from the movie is absolutely spectacular and around every corner there was something different and stunningly beautiful. You have captured the whole essence in your door and I am glad you decorated it as well. Very whimsical and true to the theme. Love everything about it.
Such a different door to the ones that everyone else has chosen. I love the bright colours, though I can't help thinking that Bilbo would disapprove. Like the other Linda, I especially like the plants growing round the door.
You certainly had fun doing your piece, Rosemary. It looks as though it belongs in the book, or the movie of A E Tolkin. A different take on the theme.
Another fun take on the theme. I am sure the Hobbits would appreciate what you have done to the doors.
ReplyDeleteVery 'Hobbitty', Rosemary. Love the attention to details and setting. The Green Dragon Inn sounds like fun. Hilary
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of fun - both at Hobbiton and your door. Glad you decorated it! Claire x
ReplyDeleteThe doors look better with the decoration than without. I've just looked at the Green Dragon Inn on internet: looks cosy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. I like your door, but I love the plants growing around it even more!
ReplyDeleteYour Hobbit door is great with it's colour and decoration Rosemary. And I like the details of the flowers and greenery around it.

ReplyDeleteIt made me smile, and I can imagine a little "person" sticking it's head out - the minute you turn around. Great colours and details.
