A much anticipated encore for me is the fanning done by a peacock. This piece is done on silk fabric, thread painted with Madeira threads and embellished with a crystal in the eye and a touch of feathers.
Just a wonderful piece Colleen. The colour and quilting just spectacular. I am glad that you chose to keep the feathers as they do really add a finishing touch for me!
We were fortunate to have seen this is 9in person yesterday. The photo cannot convey the richness of the colours and the sheen of the silk. And the detail in the thread paintings and quilting. Fabulous!
This piece made me smile! The colors, the feather details from the quilting to little bits of feathers, and the thread painting are spectacular! I especially love that you have the peacock "off the block"...what a great perspective!
Wow - what an encore piece! That's spectacular, Colleen. Love your choice of fabrics and threads. Hilary
