Did someone say yellow?

There's not a lot to say about this other than it was an exercise in varying the thread colour and quilting pattern to observe the effects.
Interestingly the threads varied from a mustard yellow to white in colour and from 12 to 50 in weight. There's a rayon thread in there as well as cotton and polycotton. All of this is totally over-ridden by the quilting patterns:

  1. Love the patterns you have created in the quilting - even writing out names of yellows. A lesson in how unsubtle you can be with thread colour if you want before it starts to show. It was only looking at the enlarged image that I spotted the different colours. Again it's the use of lines that I like.

  2. Thanks, Hilary, for drawing my attention to the script in the white square, which I guess makes it a "yellow square". I had thought that quilting was a random stipple.

    Another triumph of minimalism, Linda!

  5. Lovely and neat and flat which is hard to do on a piece that size and with that amount of quilting. The writing must indeed be minute. Nice!

  7. Love the quilting effect it gives, with just such simple lines, it really worked and appealed to my love of the geometric.

  9. I too missed the writing and had to really zoom in. I would love to see it in the flesh, so to speak.
