Green

I've never had much inspiration for this project. While surfing the internet, I stumbled upon this stitching method, so I gave it a try.

The green color is the theme, and it's split and pieced, but I'm still thinking about the quilt part, so do you have any good ideas?

  1. I do like the technique/design for your piece and with your fabric choice brilliant. Personally, I would hand stitch straight lines at various widths apart just to add some texture.

  2. I agree with Phil about the stitching

  3. Well, for someone struggling to be inspired, you could have fooled me! I love it. Great choice of fabrics. Is it a Fibonacci proportion layout?
Quilting - trouble is it is so striking as it is. Quilting is supposed to enhance the piece and I worry whatever you do might dismiss the effect - is that why you are hesitating? My thinking is that you either try and 'hide' it by stitching 'in the ditch', or I might quilt each quarter with parallel straight lines starting at the outer edge, into the inner corner and then out again to the edge. Difficult to explain... So that you have 'arrows' pointing to the centre in each quarter. Sorry if I have made it even more complicated. I love the piece whatever. H
