I can't really say what inspired me except as I started the design I thought to use a bit of surrealism in my piece hence the two heads. I wanted to swirl fabrics around them and this piece evolved as I was drawing it up. I had a lot of fun even though it entailed a lot of work.
Goodness me. At first when you mentioned earlier the number of pieces involved I was confused. Now it all falls into place. Beautifully captured and pieced. Well done.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowing curves, Patricia. Beautifully chosen fabrics and colours. Almost reminds me of a Playing card with the double head. Hilary
ReplyDeleteA really intricate design: it must have taken ages. I like the way you have used the fabrics, especially on the swag in the middle: how did you do the half circle motifs? Are they appliqued?
ReplyDeleteYes Jinnie they were appliqued on. I cut them out from the designed fabric I used in the piece.
DeleteA very clever piece incorporating the faces with the hairstyle of that era . I am also very impressed with the different quilting patterns in each of the separate 'swirling' pieces which you put a lot to thought into . Very well done.
