Instead of placing an orange or lemon slice on the side of the martini glass I decided to place a music CD on the edge as I wanted to give it a bit of a twist hence the music notes above. So what more can we have but a Beach, Sunset and music! I used angelina for the CD and found something for the glass - I can't say it is fabric but something I was given for my stash ages ago and so at last it has become useful and works well to depict the glass.
Love the colours. How did you do the musical notes?
ReplyDeleteHi Jinnie. Fortunately I found a scrapbooking template and placed the various notes on the background and used firstly silver oil paint sticks, then outlined the notes with silver metallic thread then not happy with that I added silver Jacquard paint. Got it right at last. I could have shortened the whole experience by using the template to outline in chalk, outlining it in metallic thread then using the paint.
DeleteLove it. Where I would have wanted to be yesterday after 28hrs of blackout... Sun, sand and sipping on a cocktail. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully colourful and vibrant . One can almost feel and hear the music coming from the disc . The use of the silver paint enhanced the notes beautifully. A very clever piece. Well done.

ReplyDeleteI loved this quilt. The strip piecing of the background was very colourful and the way you did the notes almost enabled one to hear the music . The 'fabric' used for the glass was amazingly appropriate and the Angelina used for the disc certainly makes it stand out. You must be delighted with this piece.
