Spools of Thread

As soon as the theme was announced, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I created a screen from an image I found online (with permission from mysanityspot.blogspot.ca) and printed it on different colours of fabric, then echo quilted it. Instead of batting, I used two layers of black felt, which also stood in for the binding. Voila!

  1. Very retro - lucky you to have such a strong idea from the beginning. You have pulled it off perfectly. Love the idea of the black felt being the binding and the batting.

  2. Love the simplicity of the piece. The colours and screen work so well and I love the idea of the 2 layers of felt giving the binding.

  3. So you! It's lovely, and it's so bright and cheerful. How nice to have an idea so early, and then be able to execute it so well.

  9. Dynamic and lively. Interesting how although the thread image is the same in each block, the eye keeps travelling around looking at each one.
