I have been waiting to have surgery. The surgeon said it would be 10 weeks before the hysterectomy would take place to remove an ovarion cyst. It has now been 27 weeks. Ironically, I am scheduled to have surgery tomorrow!!! Yippee!
My Stairway to Surgery (depicted with the Canadian Medical Assosiation logo) has been a little rocky and bumpy. I chose to quilt my sometimes flaming mood into the background. I hope to have laproscopic surgery and avoid an incision but I thought the use of the indigo fabric with small stitching lines and the stitiched binding was very fitting.
Colleen, we hope you will be "stepping out" in no time!
ReplyDeletegreat way to use the indigo. the stitches work well. great choice of color. good luck for the surgery colleen
ReplyDeleteI hope you are under the laparascopic knife as I type this Colleen. I was fortunate enough to see this in person the other day. It is a perfect depiction of the theme and your personal steps toward good health!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation of your current 'journey' , thinking of you, onwards and upwards! I have a number of pieces of Indigo which leave me wondering but I am amazed how often stitches and a splash of red work wonders.
ReplyDeleteWhat a journey Colleen. We are all thinking of you and wish you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great mood piece Colleen. Moody blue, flashes of red rage, fire in the quilting, stitches. I hope the steps of your recovery are short and quick.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of you today, Colleen. I hope you made it into surgery and that you definitely do NOT finish up with stitches like these!!!! Love the interetation of your journey to this point. Get better quickly - we're all routing for you.

So much expression in your piece! Really felt your angst of waiting for this surgery. Thinking of you for quick and complete recovery!
ReplyDeleteA great piece. I hear the surgery has gone well, now just get yourself (slowly) back to full speed again! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteColleen I am glad to hear that all has gone well for you and that you are now on the road to recovery. I like the use of indigo fabric with the colour in the steps. As they are curving upward I trust that you too will continue to 'step' up and up to complete recovery.
ReplyDeleteIt's all been said - but lets hope that the next piece expresses the 'fine life' you hope to be leading soon!
