Artist for the next quarter is....

When we lived in The Netherlands, I was so impressed by many, many Dutch masters and their incredible works. The Hague is the home and studio of my favorite artist, M.C. Escher! I can't wait to see what you create!!

  1. Always been fascinated by him & finally somebody else. Whenever I have referred to him I have been met by blank stares. Interestingly an Escher styled quilt has been ordered by my younger son & daughter-in-law. Great opportunity to experiment with the design. Yah!

  2. OMGoodness - what an interesting artist. This is going to be a great challenge for us all. Nothing like forcing us to stretch ourselves, Venetta. Thank you.

  3. Eek! I like his art, but I think that this is going to be really difficult and not one that can be done at the last minute!

  4. I've always loved his work and so was delighted to be able to visit the museum in The Hague. We also did some experimenting with creating interlocking designs when I was doing my City and Guilds. Do I sound enthusiastic! Looking forward to this.

How are things progressing in Houston in your family Venetta? I hope their homes are okay.

    1. His tessellations are captivating!

Thank you for thinking of us...their homes and cars are disasters (as are so many)...it will be a very long time before their lives are restored but everyone has a positive attitude. You would not believe the outpouring of strangers who are here or who have come here from out of state to help for all whose lives have been devastated!! Texas Strong!!

  7. This is a difficult one. A great favourite, but very difficult. I seem to remember lots of black and white, so time to bring in colours. As Jinnie says: "Not one for last minute." 😄
