I found this artist to be extremely inspirational to the point that this piece practically made itself. I loved working with the solid colours to see how they played off one another. Fused and machine quilted with smoked nylon thread.
I drew my inspiration from this piece in particular:
You have used his circles so beautifully and you can see that you really enjoyed what you have created. A lovely design in his style so well done.
ReplyDeleteFun, fun, fun. I love circles.
ReplyDeleteI can see how that just all came together. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAnd it looks even better in real life!
ReplyDeleteReminds me a bit of Kaffe Fassets circles where he places several colours one on top of the other and this is of course is exactly what Hundertwasser did . Your choice of colour combinations are remarkable , making the piece wonderfully co-ordinated and a pleasure to behold.
ReplyDeleteEach circle is different and totally draws me into each center! The variety of color and shape gives each circle it's own "personality". Have you thought about making a large quilt like this and submitting it for a Modern Quilting competition? You should!
ReplyDeleteLove it! It's so you!
ReplyDeleteI actually like yours much better than the original! You have made calm out of chaos.
ReplyDeleteSo very you Helena! I really like this, the colours really work together, and I find myself looking at different bits every time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mai-Britt. Hundertwasser's is too busy.
