I too found it difficult to concentrate on only one piece of  Klimt'w work so took pieces of several of his works.  I must say I enjoyed every moment of constructing my piece together with his designs, swirls and compositions.  He obviously loved the flowing russt coloured hair depicted in a lot of his models, so couldn't pass that one up.  He was also part of the art noveau movement and I tried to capture this as well in the piece.  All in all there were several pieces I enjoyed and incorporated as well as putting my own signature on this piece.  I have called her Clara.

  1. Gosh I am enjoying these reveals the best out of all the artists. So far you can see the joy you all have had dispite finding one pic to use. Your fabrics you have used, Patricia, are perfect and have worked so well. Your quilting is beautiful & Clara's hair is absolutely amazing & very clever.

  3. This is so Klimt and yet so different! You've done a great job making the inspiration your own. And the hair is terrific!

  5. Klimt himself would have loved this . His portraits were so obviously of society women, sitting or standing quite circumspectly but your Clara is a flamboyant character and such fun . Lovely bright colours and the threadwork gorgeous. R

  6. Patricia, you are on a roll. This is one of your best. I love Clara and her wonderful wild hair (almost tempted to dye mine red). Your interpretation pulls all the right elements together to make it a triumph. Love that bare shoulder - very Klimt.

  8. Isn't she grand?!? Her expression says it all with her opulence and grandeur ala Klimt. The movement, the fabrics, the colors and the special touch of 3-D flowing hair captures his style and spirit.
