I had this idea almost from the beginning and when I finally tried to take scissors to fabric it wasn't working for me. So hence the last minute!
I saw light reflecting off a globe into a mirror at a friend's house and wanted to recreate the lines. Of course, taking a picture didn't work.
Gorgeous!! I really like the contrast of the sharp lines with the almost dreamy background. And the green stands out so well, any more of it would have been too much in this instance.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost cosmic to me. That is a gorgeous deep violet background! Perfect foil for the green. While the background looks/feels velvety, the green is sharp and spiky. Super.

Simple and really, really effective. I think the pink marks really look like a shimmering reflection and give it depth.
ReplyDeleteAnd now my curiosity about what you originally saw is really piqued! An everyday experience turned other-worldly.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda about the balance of colours.
ReplyDeleteI love it! The background fabric just sets off the green so beautifully and your quilting lines contrast really well with the straight green lines in the design.
ReplyDeleteNot much left to say! The colour contrast is great and the quilting sets it off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAs Heather says ... not much left to say other than yours is your interpretation of what you saw. I have learnt that working in other mediums does not always give you the exact pic of. Love it.
ReplyDeletethe abstraction of what you saw and how you have interpreted it really speaks to me. well done dianne
