Planted Feathers

I was grasping for a direction so started by using the 3 in 1 colour tool by Joen Wolfrom. I collected all the fabric, buttons, trims and threads in my stash of the suggested colours on the 'marsala' colour card and started playing. After a friend asked me if it would be possible to make fabric feathers I pursued the 'planted' idea.

  1. Lovely use of the colour. Your piece makes me think of the head bands worn by women in the flapper era.

  2. Love it! Such a creative use of the fabrics and colours. The wavy line on top is a great touch.

  3. Love the way you have made the feathers and incorporated them into the design - it all comes together beautifully and is very stylish.

  5. I do love your feathers, and I agree with Dianne about the flapper era feel to it. I think the colours and style make me think of old theatres and jazz as well!

  6. Oh yes, the very plush Regency era of feather boas and theatre boxes... Love the idea and the way you have pulled it all together.

  8. All been said. Love the piece. Now I need to get back to mine and add the 2D leaves to correct it.

  9. I love the rich colours. I loathe pinks and avoid them like the plague, but they go so beautifully with the marsala. Just goes to show that I shouldn4t rule any colours out!
