I had "Merlot" in my head instead of Marsala, but here it is. I have to say I struggled with this colour, it did not ring my bell the way pure red does. Can't say much more about this!
i agree Linda. But they seem to have a mind of their own when I am working on them. If I were redoing it, I would make it paler. But I don't think I will ever make another one in this colour!
Love this piece even if you feel it does not quite fit the colour. I had not realized the difficulty this colour would create and in researching for dying it is a colour that can switch from having a touch of pink or brown. It could be paler and lighter or stronger and darker. Apologies to all .. but this is a challenge !!
The touch of blue really works with this colour. I hope the merlot was good.
ReplyDeleteAnother great piece, Helena.
ReplyDeleteYou have combined the colours into a lovely mix which comes together beautifully - well done.
ReplyDeleteThe full immersive Marsala experience, Helena. Did you try using a little complementary olive green in there?
ReplyDeleteAnother one in your lovely series of work. I might have been tempted to add some paler colours in there, but I guess it then wouldn't be Marsala.

DeleteMerlot or Marsala, the colours are rich and velvety. The piece has depth.
