Water Tower #9 |
My response to the challenge has 9 or 10 other colours in it apart from the Marsala wine-red, which I had on hand from a long-ago dyeing session. If I were to do it again, I would use a more mottled fabric for the sky to add interest.

Once again spot on. You make it very difficult for us to comment as you nail it each time. My tuppance worth, I would probably not change the sky fabric or if so very very subtle.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Phil, your subject choice and simplicity work every time. I particularly like the light on the windows, it brings the piece alive.
ReplyDeleteThe colour works so well and brings the photograph alive. I agree with Linda your simplicity works every time and your lines and design always capture the subject.
ReplyDeletelove it! I particularly like the reflected building in the windows on the right. The colour of the water tower draws your eye right to it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Heather, I would have used a slightly mottled fabric for the sky to add a bit of variety to the surface. That little touch of lime green adds zing.

The vertical stripes make this a very graphic interpretation, which nicely balances to the pink focal point. Also love the subtle reflection on the right building and the half shadow in one window! Great piece!
ReplyDeleteI like it, especially the reflected building in the windows on the right. And yes, mottled sky. Not to late to add with some judicial stamping.
ReplyDeleteGreat colour combinations. I would vote for a mottled sky. :)
ReplyDeleteI like it and I too think a mottled sky would make it even better than it already is.
ReplyDeletebeautiful. because your piece is more than two dimensional i think the sky cld handle another dimension - yes - i go for mottled sky. love it
