The group blog of four quiltmakers and textile artists scattered around the world in 4 countries and across three continents.
Our aim is to create a small quilt every three months.
The theme is chosen by the members in turn.
Our website is: www.12bythedozen.weebly.com
Have you noticed this is the same subtle colour that borders our website? If you go to http://12bythedozen.weebly.com/lily-white.html to see the results of our last challenge (thank you, Hilary) you can see for yourself!
Thanks, Phill. It's an unusual colour (even if it is THE colour for 2015!). I'm trying to work out if it is a warm or cool colour. Too dark for Terracotta, not Ox Blood, is it Madder? Maybe I need a glass of Marsala to help me?
Love the colour Phil. I would love to print it out but I don't think my printer would capture the true essence of it. Maybe you can bring your sample pic to the Durban Festival and I can have a really good look?
A difficult colour to pin down, especially when its on a computer screen. I think it's the colour that I used to print some of my Gavrinis fabrics. When I decided to buy a big bottle of it last year, the manufacturer had decided to discontinue it, so no one told them that it was going to be the colour for 2015! Fortunately I was able to buy about six of the smaller bottles at half price. I've just noticed whilst typing this that our sofa, is partly the same colour, so it must have been in fashion 15 years ago too!

ReplyDeleteWho's a lucky bunny then?! What goes around, comes around again. At least you will have the right colour for starters.
