This was a very interesting challenge Jinny and I did enjoy what I finally decided to do. As I did a tree, with some amazing fabric which was given to me by a good friend, it evolved. As I had space at each side I used metallic thread to create the illusion of branches and then attached leaves to them. My whole piece, except for the background, was quilted in gold metallic thread and also used the metallic thread to attach the leaves. It is quite stylistic but I am happy with the result.

I love your interpretation Patricia. That fabric works really well as an exotic bark. Despite the topic being my choice, I've had to abandon mine as it really wasn't working. I've nearly finished an alternative, but it might not be ready until the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric which you chose for your tree bark, full of colours which you then used for the hanging leaves. The grey blue fabric was an ideal background so that the bark fabric and leaves stood out against it so beautifully. This is a really lovely quilt and I liked the binding which is the same colour as the background. You must be delighted with this piece.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to post my piece but having difficulty doing this . I have sent the image to Patricia and asked her to publish for me . I can't work out why this is happening but will get it sorted
