  1. Thank you, Phil, for giving us Hundertwasser. I love his style and you are a hard act to follow. I hope you will all be equally as inspired by Alex Janvier.

  2. Phew, Colleen!!!! You know what, I am really loving this series and being challenge by such a variety of artists that have come up so far. I see cartoons, I see a bit of Haida art and I even see that 'swirl' filter in Photoshop, Mai-Brit. Great choice, Colleen.

  4. OMG!!! This is going to be very interesting. I also see some advanced marbling & even some Picasso in some of his work. Not sure if anyone noticed but his birthday was yesterday. Fitting recognition & tribute.

  5. Excellent choice!! Can't wait to get to know him better through the body of his work...wish we could all take a field trip to see the exhibitions and to talk with him. What a treasure!

  6. I've yet to look at any of his work having got back from holiday today (and still haven't unpacked). I love the way we are discovering new things with this series.

  8. More bright colours! Love it. I think I'll make a trip up there to see it.

  9. I showed examples of Alex Janvier's to some of my fellow CQ'ers this week and the response was varied from 'Wow' to 'How can you possibly..' - only time will tell which camp I'm in, but thanks for the introduction to another new artist.

  10. It's good to discover new artists: that's one thing that I'm enjoying with this new series. I like the bright colours, but for the moment I haven't a clue how I'm going to tackle this!

  11. Oh dear, it's 1st May and I still don't have a clue how to be inspired to produce my piece!!!! Anyone else struggling or are you all finding it plain sailing?

  12. I have had an idea, but ages ago and done nothing to progress it. Thanks for the reminder - I hadn't even thought about it again, so it'a a shock to know it has to be finished by the end of this month. If only life were not quite so busy!

  13. I have posted a few of the pictures that I took when I went to the museum. I hope that something may add a little inspiration.

    1. I've just had a look Diane, and there are one or two there that inspire me a bit more than the ones I've already seen. They give me some more ideas in case my original one does not work. Thank you.

    2. Yes, they include a few more styles and that's very helpful - thanks, Hilary

  14. I'm just about to tackle the Hundertwasser at last, though I've had to ditch my first idea as it was to complicated and tiring on the arm. My simpler one should be alright though. Then I'm going to tackle Janvier. I have an idea, but I'm not sure that it's going to work. To be honest I'm a bit stumped by this one and if my idea doesn't work, I don't know what I will do!

  15. To be honest Hilary I am also stumped. Just got back from 3 weeks in the UK and can't get my head around this artist, and I don't usually leave things as late as this! The more pieces I look at the more I feel slightly hysterical!
