Playtime

This is definitely my favourite green and I almost chose it when it was my turn to choose a colour. I had bought a fabric paint in this colour, along with the darker green, just before it was announced and had been playing with it and my gelli plate, so I decided to try to make something from my printing session. I made a few small sketchs and chose this layout.

  1. The hand-stitching adds a nice element to the piece, Jinnie.

  3. Wonderful choice of contrast colour. I created my 2015 CQ JQ's from a Gelliplate printing session so i can understand just how this came together!!!

  4. You created a very textured looking fabric with your gelli plate. It has all gone together very nicely, especially with the hand quilting.

  5. Lovely piece with another simple composition. Purple does go so well with this colour,

  6. How very satisfying to find that your playtime has been so worth while. I love the contrast of the green on mauve bars against the mauve bars on the green. And the circular stitching links up with the spots on the green fabric - as do the thin vertical big stitches with the vertical fabric bars (bars = the rectangles). Lots of careful thought.

  7. I really like the way you have combined the two colours and your design. Your quilting really stands out and looks great.

  9. I agree, you have created a wonderful piece of fabric with your gelli plate. I really need to 'play' some more with this technique. I also love the addition of the hand stitching.
